PPG inspectors conducted the annual Certified Fabricator Program audit at ITI Glass to address the company’s state of equipment, documentation and fabrication processing procedures. Beginning in 2008, PPG inspectors will emphasize a specific aspect of glass fabrication in the audit. This year, emphasis was placed on insulating glass assembly with a focus on improving the life of the unit. ITI Glass earned high ratings in the insulating glass category as well as overall production quality. Auditors rate specific production categories on a scale of 0 to 3: A score of 3 indicates no issues, 2 indicates some minor issues, 1 indicates more serious issues and 0 indicates total absence of audit requirements. Additionally, a total score ranging from 0 to 100 is given, allowing fabricators to focus on improving overall production quality from audit to audit. As a CFP member, ITI Glass submits to regular audits by PPG that cover virtually every aspect of glass fabrication. The audit is designed to assess compliance with PPG’s key processing guidelines: To deliver quality glass, faster than the competition. |
