CNC & Fabricated Glass

Create a pristine look and unique finishing touch with a wide range of edge fabrication capabilities and CAD-directed machining equipment.

Often, in highly-visual glass applications such as interior glazing systems, shelves and table-tops, edge fabrication is specified to create a smooth, finished appearance on all exposed glass edges. ITI Glass' Intermac® CNC machining equipment and Schiatti® and Besana® glass fabrication capabilities bring a wide range of possibilities to the production table.

Fabrication Capabilities

CNC equipment fabricates glass according to CAD drawings. The equipment has a working field capable of handling glass up to 90 inches x 157 inches. In conjunction with top-of-the-line Schiatti edging and Besana hole drilling equipment, ITI Glass offers a wide range of glass fabrication techniques, including:

  • Pencil-polished edges on 1/4-inch to 3/4-inch thick glass
  • Flat-polished edges on 1/4-inch to 3/4-inch thick glass
  • Mitred edges on 1/4-inch to 3/4-inch thick glass
  • Hand-polished edges for high-luster finish on other glass thicknesses
  • Internal and external hinges and notches
  • Holes
  • CAD-directed shape cutting

Unlike a seamed edge, which grinds down sharp, uneven protrusions remaining from the cutting process, polished edges have a high-luster and well-shaped finish. (Seamed edges are usually specified for heat-treated glass in order to prevent breakage during the heat-treating process.)
