South curtian wall glazing progresses in fall 2009.
Glazing at the 15,000-seat Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas began in October 2008. ITI Glass furnished glass and spandrel products for the arena, which opened in January 2010.
The Intrust Bank Arena is glazed with PPG Solarban z50 over clear glass, a product developed by PPG Industries that combines high levels of visible light transmittance with minimal solar-heat gain. The product is a specialized MSVD low-E coating applied to PPG Optiblue, a blue-gray tinted substrate.
ITI Glass implemented an improved heat-treating process to greatly reduce visible roll-wave distortion in the arena's heat-treated glass. With the new production method in place, ITI Glass delivered heat-strengthened glass and tempered glass with superior visual quality.
In charge of the arena's construction is Dondlinger/Hunt, a joint venture between two construction firms: Wichita-area general contractor Dondlinger and Sons Construction, and Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Hunt Construction Group.
